One can be powerless over script because it is the unconscious life plan constructed in childhood and reinforced by subsequent experiences.  This includes our attachments styles to parents, significant others, peer groups and relationships.  The very formation of this process from birth means that much was built from feelings thus our of awareness.  With this how can we have power over the script process itself if we are not aware how can we understand it?  In addiction those that white knuckle life can be holding some significant script residue that has been unprocessed and thus continues to cause pain.
